Whether you are already working in the care sector or are considering starting a career in it, the Care Skills course will supply you with knowledge to get you kick started in the care industry.


The Care Skills course will provide you with the fundamentals of the GSCC Code of Practice for Social Care Workers and the responsibilities involved. The Care Skills course is designed to give you the skills required to be a carer in nursing or residential homes.


Other aspects you will learn on the course are first aid, personal hygiene, risk assessment, effective communication, nutritional needs and security in the workplace.

Assignments

During the course of your training you will need to complete a number of assignments and submit them to your Care Skills tutor.  You tutor will then assess your progress, offer advice and ensure you are getting the most from your Care Skills course.



Study Details

The EDI Level 1 Certificate in Care Skills is split into 5 modules which follow in a logical sequence allowing you to build on your knowledge step by step as you progress. The course is designed to allow you to learn at a pace comfortable to you. The Care Skills course should take approximately 80 hours of study to complete.

You do not need any knowledge in care skills prior to commencing the course.

Careers

With the Care Skills certificate you can command salaries of up to £20,000* a year as a Care Worker.
